GENERAL MANAGER WESTERN PORTS URGED PPC TO IDENTIFY WITH THE PHILOSOPHY OF PRESENT MANAGEMENT
 
Officers and men of the Port Police Command have been urged to identify and fully support the philosophy and vision of the Hadiza Bala Usman led Management of  Nigerian Ports Authority, with a view to ensure effective Port operations in all the Nation’s Seaports.
 
General Manager, Western Ports, Arch. Abiodun Gbadamosi who gave the charge in Lagos on Tuesday , reiterated that the Port Police Command have a crucial role to play in providing the much needed security and surveillance in the Ports.
 
The General Manager who was speaking while receiving the Commissioner in charge of the Port Police Command Mr. Alkali Shaba, who paid a courtesy call assured that the present Management of the Authority would the provision of necessary logistics to facilitate its duties.
 
Arch. Gbadamosi implored the high Command of the Port Police to devise joint security training programmes for the officers and men of the Command with the personnel of the Authority’s Security Department.
 
While assuring that he would encourage such a joint training programme the General Manager stressed that the Management of the Zone look forward to the cordial working relationship with the Command and commended the numerous roles the Command had been playing in ensuring the safety of lives and properties in the Ports within the Zone.
 
Arch. Gbadamosi also suggest the need for an improved communication synergy between the Command and the NPA Security under the Command control programme in order to allow for the sharing of necessary surveillance information and activities in the Port.
 
Earlier, the Commissioner Mr. Shaba Had told the General Manager that he was on a familiarization tour to the Zonal Headquarters and to express appreciation for all the support the Command had been receiving from the Zone in the past.
 
While soliciting for further assistance in the provision of logistics to facilitate the work of the Command Mr. Shaba reiterated that the Command is determined to to discharge its duties effectively and to support the Management of the Authority by ensuring the safety of lives and properties in all the Nation’s Seaports. 
 
The Commissioner was accompanied on the visit by four Asst. Commissioners of Police (ACP) namely Mr. Obinna Ike, Mr. Odumosu H.O., Mr. Presley Dode and Mr. Olumide Kayode, all of the PPC.
