The Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority Hadiza Bala Usman has expressed a strong desire to establish a cohesive partnership with the government of Delta State, which will in turn help to strengthen existing relationship between the state and the Auhthority.
Speaking during her courtesy visit to the Governor of Delta State Senator, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa at the government house Asaba, the NPA MD told the governor that she was in the state to inspect the Ports facilities and breath fresh ideas into the organisation while carrying along with her, everyone who is interested in increased revenue generation for the Authority.
In his response, the Executive Governor of Delta State his Excellency Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa congratulated the managing director for her recent appointment, adding that he would love to see the Port dredged to accommodate bigger vessels which would invariably make the Port more functional, since Warri Port is strategic to serve for better trade facilitation around it's catchment areas.
His Excellency finally, added that the state had started the process of dualizing the Ughelli to Asaba express way with the believe that it would help the quick discharge of cargo from the Port upon its completion, stressing that the entire state see the Port as its gate to connect to the larger world especially in the wake of the proposed industrial park.
